Beyond the Bottom Line : July 2022
A Hanwha Techwin Communication
– July 2022 –
Hello HTA team,
As we pass the calendar’s mid-year point and gear up for a strong finish to 2022, I am once again heartened by the dedication and commitment of the entire HTA team. For the second consecutive year, we are on pace to finish ahead of revenue projections.
Our Sales, BD, NSI and A&E teams all contributed greatly to our first-half success, securing significant wins, delivering excellent customer support, and identifying new business opportunities. This growth is made possible through the contributions and collective efforts of our teams in Teaneck: CS, IS, PM, Marketing and Tech Support.
Such a sustained level of high performance only comes through teamwork. However, while our collective success is how we measure our company’s growth, there are also several outstanding individual performances that deserve recognition and are detailed in this issue. Please congratulate your colleagues when you see or speak to them.
We’ve on-boarded many new employees since ending 2021 in all areas across the company from marketing and sales to field support and operations. We will continue to add employees in key roles throughout the remainder of the year – another sign of our growth and bright future.
Due to the tremendous interest in our Hanwha Innovation and Technology Experience, or HITE, we’re looking into opening more locations in the West and Central regions as part of our ongoing investment plans to expand Hanwha’s footprint throughout the U.S.
In the meantime, I hope you’re all enjoying the summer while getting ready for a busy fall season. The next few months will be important as we all prepare for GSX, new product announcements, updates, exciting customer success stories and more.
Mr. C.H. Ha, President, Hanwha Techwin America
Wisenet A series Launches
The HTA Marketing team has provided a textbook example of how to support a product launch with its efforts behind the new Wisenet A series roll-out. The team has created a comprehensive set of resources including, social media posts, a video overview, a brochure, MDF collateral and point of display materials as well as a series of instructional how-to videos, all housed on a feature rich and intuitive landing page. Each Wisenet A series asset conveys the simplicity of the A series, while touting it as a cost-effective NDAA and FCC-compliant camera and NVR solution.
Grinding It Out
Who says this job doesn’t have any “perks”?
Paig Parish, BDM, Retail & Restaurant, worked his strong personal and professional relationships with several members of the Starbuck’s global security team to propose Hanwha as an alternative to incumbent Axis. He was able to get Hanwha into the testing and vetting process and, in early May we were awarded our first deployment of 4,600 cameras including 3,400 QNF-8010 and 1,200 QND-6082R1 models. It’s small portion of a much larger opportunity we have brewing with Starbucks. Grande job Paig… and to Rey Eversole who managed local relationships and support with Starbucks HQ in Seattle.
The Chemistry Is Right
During the pandemic, White Martins Brazil made the security and safety of their personnel, materials and equipment a top priority. Oxygen requirements were historically high, as were the risk of production accidents and theft due to increased demand.
White Martins Brazil, a division of Linde, is a leading industrial gas company in Latin America, serving a diverse range of markets including chemicals, energy, healthcare, and mining. They are the primary provider of containerized oxygen and other gases in the region.
Hanwha’s Rodrigo Martini worked closely with our specialized integrator Avantia to evaluate the best approach to securing building perimeters, production facilities and common areas. After an extensive requirements review, White Martins deployed a Hanwha solution including X series dome and bullet cameras, Q series PTZ models, and a complete WAVE solution.
The team is now working on pilot programs with P series AI cameras for integration with WAVE 5.0. Avantia provided custom integration with several internal systems, which now proactively protects and notifies the security department of events and activities. Avantia has completed 11 sites to date, with between 150 to 200 cameras per site.
We expect all 88 company sites will upgrade to a Hanwha solution over the next 18 months. Kudos to Rodrigo and the Hanwha Brazil team for their great work on this important project that is protecting and saving lives.
Doing What It Takes
Ken Cohen consistently does an outstanding job of driving deeper relationships with his NSI accounts, always looking for new opportunities and identifying key influencers within their organizations to yield maximum results.
For example, when supply chain issues pressured JCI to seek an alternative supplier for a project with American Tire, Ken communicated efficiently with the HTA team to prioritize orders and arrange air shipments. In addition to supporting a $661K purchase order to win business from Axis, Ken forged a new relationship with JCI’s northeast regional director for national accounts. Thanks to our successful deployment and on-time delivery, JCI highlighted Hanwha in its internal newsletter as a key supplier with superior delivery capabilities compared to Axis. Great job, Ken, keeping your eye on the long-term big picture.
Soaring to New HITEs
The Hanwha Innovation and Technology Experience (HITE) continues to be a popular destination for industry professionals. Since the Center opened its doors in March 2022, our team has hosted more than 40 training sessions and tours for partners and customers from a range of industries, including financial services, media, entertainment and healthcare.
The Center has also proven useful for generating new business. Following their tours, several customers have decided to switch from a competitor to Hanwha after seeing our vision for the future of surveillance. The HITE schedule is filling up over the next few months as more people realize the value of this industry resource.
